When to visit
The dry months from November to April bring mild days and cool evenings, ideal for walking the cobbled streets. The GIFF (Guanajuato International Film Festival) screens films across the city in late July, while the Day of the Dead, the Festival de San Miguel Arcángel in September and the Christmas posadas turn the historic centre into a stage for processions and music. Pride celebrations, although smaller than in Mexico City, are growing each June and attract a friendly regional crowd.
